Order: Egg ’n’ Bacon ($6.29). An 8-inch personal pizza topped with scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, mozzarella, aged cheddar and a ton of black pepper.
Crust: This pizza comes on Coco’s regular crust with other choices available — thin or gluten-free.. The crust was exceptionally crisp around the outer edges, and because of the pan it was cooked in, it was puffy and doughy on the inside.
Sauce: None. There was no sauce on this bad boy and I couldn’t find a darn thing wrong with that.
Toppings: The eggs were used generously and cooked perfectly — something I was a little worried about before trying this pizza. The bacon was in bits, scattered everywhere, and they carried a lingering smokiness and saltiness. The mozza-cheddar blend was the perfect duo for colour and flavour, but the icing on the cake was the fresh ground pepper. It absolutely elevated the deliciousness of this pie.
Dining options: Dine in, takeout or delivery (although there’s a six pizza minimum). You can also buy ready-to-bake or frozen pizzas.
Decision: If you’re looking for a bang for your buck, Coco Brooks is a fabulous option. There are a multitude of choices and because of the personal-sized pizzas, it’s easy to please a large group of pizza patrons. Although this is a breakfast-oriented pie, I enjoyed mine for supper and suggest it would be fine for any meal of the day. Most people may not know Coco Brooks opens at 8 a.m. during the week and 9 a.m. on Saturdays (and is closed Sundays), so you can fulfil those early-morning-pizza cravings. This pie gets four out of six slices.
