Here's What You're Doing on Friday Night

This Friday, you're going to a show. You're going to the Palomino to see Wax Mannequin. And it's going to be awesome.

Last time Wax came to town for a headline set, he played to an almost empty Ironwood and it was a real heartbreaker. It was still a fantastic set, because the guy's a pro and shitty turnouts happen sometimes, but that didn't stop me from feeling embarassed for my city, sitting with Peter at one of three populated tables in the entire room. Shameful!

Here are some reasons you should go see Wax, other than guilt:

  • In contrast to other recent visits, it is a full-band set, which means you might get to see something as awesome as this:

  • The Palomino is one of the city's best venues for live music and they have Wild Rose Alberta Crude on tap, which is a delicious stout.
  • It's an early show (8-10PM according to the band's website) so there's no risk you'll miss the last train back to suburbia and you might even be in bed by midnight.
