Posted by Patrick Boyle in Srsly, You GuysIt's always nice to see mainstream success for a band that makes (somewhat) different and high-quality music, but I don't really care for MGMT. THAT SAID, the new video for their once-tolerable-now-cringe-inducing-due-to-overexposure Kids is a must-see:

Yes, that is Joanna Newsom playing the "mom." And is it just me, or is there a bit of a reverse-Where the Wild Things Are vibe going on here? And (finally) the animation style looks a lot like the crazy shit those guys from Wonder Showzen used to churn out. Speaking of which, if you were a fan of that show, it might be worth checking out Xavier: Renegade Angel. (Hint: I'm not going to embed it here, but uh... you can Google it?)
