Heracles: The Mythologically Accurate Adventures

Heracles: The Mythologically Accurate Adventures, Lantern Church Basement, Sunday, 9:30

Heracles is OK. I know, not really a strong stance. The play follows a familiar formula of cheap laughs that will entertain some. It's not that it's bad, it's just that it's a little overdone.

The story is accurately described by the title. Heracles wants to set the record straight about who he is and how the Romans bastardized his name (Hercules).

We follow the cast through his birth, his 12 impossible tasks and his adventures with Jason and the Argonauts.

There were laughs, but the play grew old by the end of the performance. Some dialogue, a funny situation, couple of one liners and we're out.

If you're in the mood for something simple and aren't a crusty bastard that goes to a lot of theatre, you might like this one. I didn't.
