"Boobs" — A Tale of Two Titties

"Boobs" - A Tale of Two Titties, Lantern Church Gym, Saturday, 8:30

With a title like this, it's no surprise the show seemed particularly well attended, at least the evening I went.  It definitely lives up to its title — plenty of raunchy, coarse humour about "boobs."  (The main refrain in the show's opening song, for example, is "I love you, little tits"...)

The show is made up of several, stand-alone sketches with "boobs" as the unifying theme.  As such, it seems a bit disjointed at first, as the lights are always up-and-down, up-and-down...  To be frank, I was ready to rip into this show for its stupidity and vulgar humour that seems particularly suited to the young male.  (I mean, really, a young man seeking help from a support group, because he's still drinking his mother's "tit juice" ....??)  HOWEVER, HOWEVER.... My opinion of the show changed COMPLETELY with one of the cast member's revelations near the end.

I don't want to give it away but, suddenly, the entire show made sense, and I went from loathing it, to loving it, raunchy humour and all.  And I no longer felt ashamed of the few laughs that had managed to escape me, even as I had been shaking my head and "tut-tutting" the whole thing.

Now, I say, if you're a woman, go see this show, but make sure to stick around to the end.  You'll be glad you did.
