Some music that I found on the internet for your ear holes.
Loscil "Else"
Nothing kicks off a wild Stampede-filled weekend like slowly unfolding, textural ambient music, right? Okay, maybe not, but this new track from Vancouver's Loscil will keep you breathing easy and stress-free as he adds layer upon layer of pastoral sounds.
Jeff the Brotherhood "Sixpack" (video)
Technically this is the third time I've posted this song in Weekly Leaks, but it's just that damn good. Also, it has an awesome summery music video now, complete with beers, canoe rides and fireworks. Oh and also naked dudes. Party time!
Various artists Call Me Maybe
Sure, 43 different interpretations of Carly Rae Jepsen's omnipresent summer single "Call Me Maybe" might sound like a Guantanamo Bay torture technique, but there's enough diversity on here to keep it fun throughout. If you're too lame to give the whole thing a try, make sure you at least hear Dan Deacon's transcendently layered rework.
Milk Music "Violence Now"
Olympia riff rulers Milk Music are playing a house show in Calgary on Sunday, July 8. To celebrate, here's a proper studio version of their rager "Violence Now," which previously only existed on the Live at WFMU cassette and a very rare flexidisc that you definitely don't have (but I do).
50 Cent 5 (Murder by Numbers)
In celebration of his birthday today, 50 Cent dropped a brand new album for free. This is ten tracks of classic, thugged out Fiddy, with not a single goofy pop song in sight. Check it out below or download here.
Lil B Rich After Taxes
Did you really think you were going to make it through this without some new Lil B? Of course not! Keeping up his eventful year, B has just unleashed another 16 tracks on his legions of fans. I'm looking forward to all of it, but most especially the second last track "Gunz and Strapz Im Depressed." What an incredible song title.
