Oh, men.
These Men to be exact.
The Calgary play brought to Fringe Festival by Mayo Simon and directed by Brooklyn Ritchie is an endearing and touching comedy/drama that actresses Denise Wong and Kristin Swirles hit out of the ballpark. The two are convincing as their roles come to life, with Wong (of She Has a Name fame) bringing naive live in her character Cloris, and Swirles as the trucker mouth and bitter Shelly who is actually quite charming. Both women have man problems in their own ways, and both have their approaches.
This play talks about the hardships of dating 20-somethings, on-night stands, break ups and promises, and while it can be often sad and depressign, the duo bring laughs to the bleachers at the Artpoint Gallery. A perfect setting for the half-clad women in beds and bathrobes, this charming play is a must see of the Fringe Festival.
There's even a good soundtrack of music with this one. You can catch this show again on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
