File this under shows we want to watch this theatre season — Sage Theatre has some great ones coming up.
Starting with the season opener (September 28 until October 8) Summer of My Amazing Luck pairs Edmonton theatre favourite Chris Craddock with his adaptation of the novel of the same name by Miriam Toews. Craddock is responsble for the funny and thought-provoking rock/rap musical BASH'd and Toews an award-winning author.
It's the Calgary-premiere of the story about a down-on-her-luck single mother trapped in the Canadian welfare system.
On November 16 (until the 26th), Any Night will tell the story of a troubled young dancer who starts a romance with a charming man living above her, but starts to suffer strange behaviour in her sleep. It's dubbed as a must-see and will have audiences thinking about trust, privacy and the power of the subconscious.
Fool For Love (aren't we all) features Sage's first out-of-town co-production with Edmonton's Shadow Theatre on March 7 until the 17th. In this tale of tainted romance, two lonely wanderers are connected by more than love and share a secret that threatens to destroy them.
