It's in with the new while celebrating the old next season at Theatre Junction GRAND. The company unveiled its 2011/12 season and will blend a mix of local, national and international performances while bringing back some favourites.
COMPAGNIE MARIE CHOUINARD will launch the season with her new work THE GOLDEN MEAN, a contemporary dance piece. Following that will be another contemporary dance piece by L’A Rachid Ouramdane from Paris. Next up is the world premiere of Newyorkland from New York based theatre company Temporary Distortion, a dark and gritty depiction of street cops.
Beginning the new year is influential performance artist, Laurie Anderson, who last performed in Calgary in 2005, with her piece The End of the Moon. In Martin Crimp’s Attempts on Her Life, Theatre Junction will re-visit the world of Crimp. Ending the season with a bang, American-Korean playwright Young Jean Lee and her band, Future Wife, take the stage in a life-affirming show, about the thing everyone has in common (appropriately titled): We're Gonna Die.
