Theatre Calgary welcomes Oscar-winning actress

Theatre Calgary is bringing Oscar and Golden Globe winning actress (for her role in Moonstruck) Olympia Dukakis to the Max Bell Stage to kick off its 2011-2012 season on September 10, 2011.

Dukakis will read from her writing and poetry and have a question period with the audience at the event dubbed An Evening with Olympia Dukakis. Theatre Calgary artistic director Dennis Garnhum and the actress spent two years corresponding and she agreed to support the theatre's new season by making the appearence.There will also be two dance performance from the theatre's first show of the season, Tosca Cafe.

Tickets for the event are $75 each and go on sale April 21 at theatrecalgary.com.
