First, you should really think about participating in the Month of New Music, as Peter Hemminger blogged about a few days back. Secondly: Southern hip hop icon and self-professed trillionaire Bun B — who you might remember from his Texan old-school faves UGK — has announced a Calgary date on Saturday, November 11. He'll be joined with $truck, Loose Cannon Playaz and J-Track.
This is what a press release will have you know about Bun:
Hip Hop Legend Bun B and one half of the award-winning duo UGK made an impressive return this year with the release of his new album Trill OG.
Trill OG, which received a 5 Mic "Classic" rating in The Source Magazine - the first album in over five years to receive the honour, features a who's who of Rap over the last five years, with appearances by Young Jeezy, Drake, T-Pain, Gucci Mane (who was recently arrested for driving down the wrong side of the street), Yo Gotti, Twista, Slim Thug, Trey Songz, and posthumous appearances by 2Pac & Pimp C.
Which is cool, and all. But he's also the dude who tried (and, depending on who you ask, succeeded) at rhyming "on some gay shit" with "Appalachian." Take it for what it's worth.
