Many moons ago (only a few months, actually) I picked up a few albums to review. One of them being The Besnard Lakes' ... Are the Roaring Night.
I was so enthralled with the album I didn't finish the review until just a few hours before my deadline. I listened to it in its entirety no less than 15 times a week. I couldn't do anything but close my eyes and listen to it. I had no desire to take my attention from the album to write about it.
And now we all have the luxury of seeing them play May 2 at Broken City. My words on how brilliant the band is may have no weight, so let me put things in perspective for you: Simon and Garfunkel are playing the very same night. And I will be watching the Besnard Lakes.
And you should be too.
