I think what I like best about Jenn Grant's newest, Honeymoon Punch, is how every time I listen to it I have a new favourite song. That lasts until the next time I listen to it. And then there's a new one.
Right now, my song is "Oh My Heart," and when she played it yesterday at the Outlaws and Gunslingers Femmes Fatales Showcase (Six Shooter Records is her label), it was exactly the way I wanted it to be, live: Playful, fun, longing and yet happy and good-spirited.
It made me clutch (oh) my heart out of happiness.
Anyway.
After her set Jenn was nice enough to come down from the friendly, navigable confines of upstairs at Paradise on 6th to the maelstrom of the street scene outside the bar (the only place where there was sufficient light) and do a quick interview for me (and for all of you, FFWD readers).
Peep that below, and say hi to JG when she's in your town.
Follow Jenn on Twitter, and, if you like my steez, you could follow me as well.
