Race heats up for Calgary-Glenmore

Ald. Diane Colley-Urquhart to seek Tory nomination

Ever since Calgary-Glenmore MLA Ron Stevens stepped down last week, rumours have been swirling about who will replace him.

So far, Ald. Diane Colley-Urquhart is seeking a nomination for the seat and Paul Hinman, who is stepping down as leader of the Wildrose Alliance next month, says he is “seriously considering” throwing his hat into the ring.

“It’s an important opportunity for the party to put forth the best effort we can and win that riding‚” says Hinman, who would be returning to his roots if he won, as he grew up in Haysboro.

And former Ontario NDP MPP George Dadamo is considering seeking the Liberal nomination and will make a formal decision in the next couple of weeks, according to his staff.
