The premier’s decision to move Health Minister Ron Liepert to the energy portfolio may not be enough to repair ill-relations with the oil and gas industry, says a Calgary MLA.
Dave Taylor, Liberal MLA for Calgary-Currie, says the province’s No. 1 industry is still smarting from the bloated royalty tax slapped on the oil and gas sector, and siccing Liepert on them won’t help matters.
“If Ron Liepert does for energy what he did for health then we won’t have to worry about getting sick in Alberta anymore because we’ll all be in B.C. or Saskatchewan looking for work,” he says.
