The city’s conflict between a racist gang and a local group turned violent this week with a rumble that left an alleged neo-nazi unconscious.

On Tuesday, Anti-Racist Action, a youth-based organization, was handing out pamphlets at Millenium skate park warning people of a man they say has been recruiting people at the park for the Aryan Guard, a Calgary-based neo-nazi gang.

As they left the park, ARA members say they encountered the man, who gave them a Nazi salute from the balcony of his apartment, then came down and began punching them and spitting on them. In the ensuing fight, the man was knocked out.

The Aryan Guard has been operating since 2006, passing out racist leaflets and holding protests at City Hall. (A.M.)
