City council members walked into a closed-door meeting with Enmax demanding answers from its board of directors about recent controversies surrounding the embattled utility.
Four hours later, aldermen filed out of the meeting, offering up little more than sheepish shrugs and uttering the mantra: “No comment… the mayor will be out soon.”
In recent months, Enmax has been under fire on several fronts, including compensation for its board of directors and rock star parties at former CEO Gary Holden’s house.
Holden later stepped down after it was revealed he accepted a trip to Monaco in 2008 on a client’s dime. He then walked away with a $4.6-million severance package.
When Mayor Naheed Nenshi emerged from the meeting, it was with Enmax chairman Cliff Fryers and acting CEO Charles Ruigrok by his side, and a prepared, yet ultimately vague, statement in hand.
Council, he said, was pleased with Enmax’s “shift in tone” and would reaffirm its support after the board “agreed to a number of changes in its governing principles.”
“No more rock star parties, no private jets, no private cars,” he told reporters. “This stuff has been made very clear and Enmax’s board today reaffirmed that their primary responsibility is to their owners, who are the citizens of Calgary.”

I have a lot of unanswered questions from the last 2 AGM's that are "unresolved".
Lets see the cost benefit analysis of some of these illustrious "marketing" events. also, lets review the land transactions done with Walton Intl...after all, the Former and current chairman sit on Walton's Board also.
What about "Furry Creek"? Or the investment in BC windmills that lost...how many million?
