In the November 1-7, 2007, edition of Fast Forward Weekly, we published a letter entitled “More To Add About Standard’s Demise.” The author of that letter made various claims about the demise of the Western Standard, which were derogatory towards the Western Standard’s publisher, Ezra Levant. After considerable due diligence, we have come to believe that many facts in the letter were inaccurate and some clarification is necessary.
In particular, we recognize that as a publisher Mr. Levant would have gone to all efforts to promote and improve the Western Standard, locally, nationally and internationally, including ensuring that any use of company funds was appropriate. Any suggestion to the contrary was based on the opinion of the author of the letter and Fast Forward Weekly does not share those views.
The letter writer expressed his opinion, as readers are wont to do in the pages of Fast Forward, and these opinions should not have been mistaken as fact. We regret any confusion or harm the letter may have caused and apologize to Mr. Levant and the rest of the Western Standard community for any inconvenience that may have resulted.
