Last week, Fast Forward published an investigation into municipal election campaign financing (“Calgary’s ‘Wild West’ campaign financing,” by Jeremy Klaszus and Adrian Morrow, October 4-10, 2007). In that story, we said two sitting aldermen — Ward 2 Ald. Gord Lowe and Ward 3 Ald. Helene Larocque — got the campaign period dates wrong on their 2004 candidate statements. This information is correct. However, Lowe and Larocque weren’t the only candidates to get the campaign period dates wrong. Two other sitting aldermen — Ward 10 Ald. Andre Chabot and Ward 12 Ald. Ric McIver — also got the dates wildly wrong. Most of the other candidates got the dates wrong as well. We regret this omission.
