MLAs chided for using social media in legislature

'There’s something going on in virtual wonderland called Twittering,' says Speaker

Tech-savvy MLAs got a stern warning March 10 about using social media during question period in the legislature.

“There’s something going on in virtual wonderland called Twittering, and it seems that even as the question period goes on, some honourable members have been accessing their BlackBerrys to put some messages in the virtual world before the question is even answered by another person,” said Ken Kowalski, the legislature’s Speaker. “Come on now.”

Calgary Conservative Kyle Fawcett was one of the MLAs who got busted.
