Cowboys forced out of current location

Owner hopes to relocate downtown, says city needs to be 'finessed'

Cowboys is being forced out of its current location at Olympic Way and 11th Ave. S.E. to make room for the new Fourth Street underpass linking Stampede Park with the East Village.

The bar’s lease expires at the end of this year. Owner Paul Vickers hopes to find another downtown location, but when he tried to move the club into the Eau Claire area last year, the city’s planning commission said no. Vickers says the city has to be “finessed in the right way.” “I’ve got to think that with today’s economy, they’re in a position where they need to accept things a little more readily than maybe they did in the past,” he says.

Vickers says he might move the bar into an industrial park if it can’t stay downtown.

Also, please no more Cowboys downtown! I was just getting used to walking home without getting molested by short-skirted bimbos and drunk assholes.

Not that these are in short supply these days.

Cowboys needs to accept it's fate and accept defeat. It's the nucleus of the Skankpede and I want it to cease existing. Here's hoping!
