Some comfort to be found in remarks

Re: “Richardson’s regret,” by Jeremy Klaszus, Cover, September 25-October 1, 2008.

During the last federal election, I attended an all-candidates debate in a pub on 10th Ave. S.W. Lee Richardson explained to a whole room of mostly university students that CO2 was only plant food, and that we shouldn’t be concerned about increased emissions and climate change. Now I hear that he has made racial slurs against recent immigrants. Election night on October 14, the constituents of Calgary Centre will go to bed, comforted by the thought that their newly elected member of parliament will never make them feel stupid.

Too disgusted to live in Alberta anymore,
