Talk about going out with a bang. Not only has Parkas come up with one of the best names for a posthumous album ever, but the band has delivered the strongest album of its career. For eight years, this Toronto outfit has been turning out well-meaning but often dull Canadian indie rock, but here the frantic soloing, genre-hopping and contagious energy goes a long way to transcend that. Everything is on display for better or worse, and while the intimate numbers lose something in recording, the flat-out rockers shine with nothing-to-lose attitude. It’s an ambitious No Depression, Sub Pop B-side, college-rock blowout that also stands as a solid album in addition to being a heartfelt farewell
