The Notwist - The Devil, You & Me

Domino

On the last two full-lengths by The Notwist, these German ambassadors of glitch have consistently included at least one song per album that is so perfect, so instantly anthemic, so infectiously poppy, that you wear out the repeat button on your CD player. Sadly, The Devil, You + Me doesn’t have that song. The lead track “Good Lies” comes close, and the title track is sufficiently sad, but once you strip away the melancholy digital sizzle and mournful vocals, the album can’t live up to the band’s past brilliance.
