Canada’s answer to brash punk rockers The Dwarves, Toronto’s Brutal Knights unleash another dose of tongue-in-cheek blasts of insight into humanity and nasty behaviour on Living By Yourself. The band is as ferocious and out-of-control as ever, singer Nick Flanagan blazing through his vocals like some unhinged, wily beast fuelled by the trash punk of his bandmates, who threaten to derail at any second. Fleshed out with extra tracks from four of the band’s previous singles (My Life, My Fault; Life Ain’t Cool; Terrible Evenings; and a track from the Killed By Trash II compilation), the entire package is enjoyably concise, running through a solid 25 tracks in 35 minutes.
