Distinctive and anthemic, witty yet aggressive, London, Ontario’s Bobnoxious is the perfect culmination of modern rock’s most crucial elements: AC/DC-inspired simplicity and punk rock belligerence. While it’s surprising that even these bare-bone essentials could be refined, they’ve done it again with third effort SuperScar. Hammering away like a machine gun spitting out hooky choruses (“Ain’t No Holiday”), double-time blasts of rage (“Flinch”), brashness and tongue-in-cheek humour (“Valencrime”), SuperScar is the perfect booze-fuelled party record. Fuck, these guys rock.
