Ace, you’ve always been my favourite member of KISS. Your first solo album was far superior to the other three band members’ efforts — who could compete with “New York Groove?” I even boycotted KISS after you took a “hiatus” in the ’80s, and no one was happier to see you back onstage with them in the ’90s than me. About your new album, Anomaly; it sounds… OK. The music is all right, but let’s be honest: You’ve never really been the strongest singer-lyricist, have you? I don’t hate your cover of “Fox on the Run,” but I’m not sure if that’s because it’s good or because I just like that song. When you sing about your old partying ways in “A Little Below the Angels,” you make me sad — ’cuz it’s so damn cheesy. The final track, “Fractured Quantum,” is by far my favourite — is it because it’s instrumental? Who’s to say? I am so glad that you’ve gotten your life together now and still feel the creative juices flowing, but, and I say this with love, let it go. xoxo, Kari
