Order: Meat Lovers ($17). A 12-inch pizza with pepperoni, ham, salami and lean beef.
Crust: One thing I’ve learned during my past pizza pursuits is that dough is often too plain. In its basic form, dough is nothing more than flour, salt, water, olive oil and yeast. Despite those bland ingredients, some eateries are able to elevate those simple ingredients into edible masterpieces. Unfortunately, Cedar Grove doesn’t make it onto that list. Grove’s dough finds itself smack-dab in the middle of what might otherwise be known as the “forgettable” category. When I look back at my pizza list in the future, I don’t expect to remember anything good or bad about their crust. It was average at best.
Sauce: The ground beef and pizza sauce form a meat sauce base. For those looking for tips on how to beef up meat consumption levels, it’s a really easy way to add more meat to any pie. Spices were visible in the sauce and it had a decent flavour. Nothing earth-shattering, but palatable.
Toppings: This pizza is smothered in cheese, meat, meat, meat and more meat. Obviously, this type of pizza isn’t for the vegetarian crowd. The pepperoni had a rich-spice kick to it, but the salami and ham were fairly nondescript. It also wasn’t very greasy, which in my books is a good thing.
Dining options: Eat in, takeout or delivery.
Decision: Like the dough, I’m not convinced that this pie will be a standout when all is said and done, but there was certainly nothing wrong with it. Cedar Grove fills an important void in the pizza ecosystem by filling out the mid-range level quite nicely. This pizza gets three out of six slices.

If you get flavourless dough, it could be because they didn't add enough salt or they didn't let it rise properly.
