Burger: Mugs burger ($11 with choice of two sides) — a homemade six-oz. beef patty on a sesame seed bun, topped with processed cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo, mustard and ketchup.
Sides: Choose between fries or roasted potatoes, and house or Caesar salad. Upgrade to onion rings or yam fries for $2.
Atmosphere: A small pub decorated in light-coloured woods with burgundy chairs and tables. There are high booths located on one side and an inviting U-shaped bar in the middle of the room.
Menu: Mugs Pub serves pub grub. Try saying that ten times, and fast. There are $9-burger specials three days a week: Wednesday (BBQ ranch burger), Thursday (Mugs burger) and Friday (Mozza burger).
Decision: My main disappointment was with the patty, which had too much filler. I liked the use of processed cheese, as I think it works well on a burger. The mayo, mustard and ketchup trio was layered on the top and bottom of the burger, which was a bit of overkill. The produce, however, was super fresh and chilled.
When all is said and done, this one will fall into the category of burgers that weren't awesome enough to leave a lasting impression but weren't disappointing enough to leave a bad one.
