Burger: The Palomino Cheeseburger arrived on an untoasted bun spread thick with a Thousand Island-esque dressing, piled with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, pickles, sautéed onion petals and cheese. The produce was really fresh and although the patty seemed pre-formed, it had a pleasant texture and was well seasoned.
Sides: Your choice of two: garlic fries; boring fries; Palomino slaw; rustic Yukon gold & sweet potato mash; bacon-wrapped corn cobs; smoker cheddar grits; Jack Daniels apples; baked black-eyed peas & beans; grilled seasonal vegetables; simple greens; Caesar salad or soup of the day.
Atmosphere: One of our true gems that’s a dirty dive in the very best possible way. The Palomino constantly hosts great bands, serves up great food and employs an amazing staff that’ll keep you coming back over and over again.
Menu: Home to Canada’s largest barbecue pit. ’nuff said.
Decision: The burger’s good, but there are much better options on Palomino’s menu.
