Burger: Moxie’s Classic Grill X-treme burger — two patties topped with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, sweet pepper aioli, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, aged white cheddar, mozzarella and barbecue sauce. The patties themselves have an unappealing, spongy pre-formed texture, and while everything works well together, nothing really stands out.
Sides: Moxie’s burgers come with fries by default, but you can substitute for any of the full menu’s sides (soup, salad, etc.). I recommend the fries with two portions of Moxie’s basil mayo dip ($1 each). The dip is super tasty and one just is not enough to get me through.
Atmosphere: Moxie’s aims to provide upscale casual foods in a comfortable environment. The chain provides an atmosphere that appeals to almost anyone without being sterile.
Menu: Other burger options include a regular burger, cheeseburger or bacon cheeseburger. The Mediterranean burger is topped with feta, goat cheese and fresh basil pesto. Another stand out, the ranch-house chicken burger, comes topped with pancetta bacon, peppered havarti, lettuce, tomatoes and a ranch-barbecue sauce.
Decision: Moxie’s X-treme burger is decent. However, with 10 toppings and two patties, the burger is probably too much for some.
