Rogues Theatre is opening its 10th season with John Patrick Shanley’s The Dreamer Examines His Pillow. Shanley is best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt, which was made into a movie that won an Academy Award last year.

Stacie Harrison, co-director of Theatre Calgary’s production of Doubt last season, will direct this production.

This comedy follows 27-year-old Tommy (Telly James) and his ex-girlfriend Donna (Michaila Skye) and looks at their rocky, sexually charged relationship. It doesn’t help that Tommy is currently sleeping with Donna’s younger sister.

As the two try to sort out their feelings for one another, Donna turns to her artsy father (Rogues artistic director Joe-Norman Shaw) for advice on love, sex and life.

The Dreamer Examines His Pillow runs until November 7 at the Joyce Doolittle Theatre at Pumphouse Theatres.
