Theatre Junction brings Vancouver choreographer Wen Wei Wang and his troupe, Wen Wei Dance, to the Theatre Junction Grand. Inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the six-person ensemble will explore life, death and emotions.
In addition to the performance, members of Wen Wei Dance will also share their views on dance and creativity for the Grand Ideas speaker series on April 14.
Three Sixty Five runs April 15 to 18 at Theatre Junction Grand.
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
Who could forget the scene in the movie version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels where Steve Martin has a cork on a fork in order to save his eyeballs from self-inflicted stabbing. Can Theatre Calgary match wits with a master comedian like Martin? Well, they did a pretty good job holding their own against Hollywood heavyweights in their production of Doubt earlier this year, so they might just pull it off.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels runs April 14 to May 20 at Max Bell Theatre.
FIGMENTS
SAIT’s radio television and broadcast news students are hitting the stage for their annual theatre performance.
Figments, written by Billy St. John, follows Rick, a writer with a bad case of writer’s block. He’s surrounded by figments of his imagination and the real-life characters they’re based on.
This production also features one student dressed as an urn. Hmm. You’ll have to check it out to find out why.
Figments runs April 15 to 16 and April 20 to 23 in Room 001 of the Senator Burns building at SAIT.
