AMBER PACIFIC
Truth in Sincerity
Hopeless Records

· Sophomore album heavy on the pop.

Technically speaking, Amber Pacific play pop punk songs, but comparatively speaking, the band is pretty heavy on the pop and light on the punk. Looking like they walked out of a teen clothing catalogue (the band has clothing and shoe sponsorships), Truth in Sincerity playfully acknowledges question marks about the band’s "authenticity." What’s certain, however, is William Nutter’s sincere ability to write seemingly perfect pop songs dominated by catchy melodies, increasingly enjoyed by a growing Internet fan base. The roaring guitars, backed with the orchestral swells that dominated The Possibility and the Promise, creates a very ear-friendly SoCal sound. Unfortunately, after a dozen songs about falling in and out of love, even the most "perfect" of pop tunes begins to sound somewhat indistinguishable from the rest.
