THE SPILL CANVAS
Denial Feels So Good
Sire

· The Spill Canvas want you to look over here while they finish their third album.

Denial Feels So Good is a five-song EP, meant to whet the appetite for the band’s third full-length, due out this fall. For fans of the band, Denial will accomplish its goal, as the EP’s three original tracks are in the band’s intense, energetic and vaguely emo rock style.

Interestingly, on such a short EP, the band includes two cover songs – Fleetwood Mac’s "Gold Dust Woman" and Donovan’s "Catch the Wind." Both showcase the band’s range, though "Wind" comes off much better than "Gold Dust Woman," which goes on for almost four minutes and feels like it’s just about to start the whole time.

Denial Feels So Good won’t raise expectations for the Spill Canvas’s forthcoming album, but it won’t do the band any damage either. Hopefully the most interesting part of the CD won’t be the band’s choice of cover songs.
