THE SPILL CANVAS
Denial Feels So Good
Sire
· The Spill Canvas want you to look over here while they finish their third album.
Denial Feels So Good is a five-song EP, meant to whet the appetite for the bands third full-length, due out this fall. For fans of the band, Denial will accomplish its goal, as the EPs three original tracks are in the bands intense, energetic and vaguely emo rock style.
Interestingly, on such a short EP, the band includes two cover songs Fleetwood Macs "Gold Dust Woman" and Donovans "Catch the Wind." Both showcase the bands range, though "Wind" comes off much better than "Gold Dust Woman," which goes on for almost four minutes and feels like its just about to start the whole time.
Denial Feels So Good wont raise expectations for the Spill Canvass forthcoming album, but it wont do the band any damage either. Hopefully the most interesting part of the CD wont be the bands choice of cover songs.
