WHEAT
Every day I said a prayer for Kathy and made a one inch square
Empyrean

· Wheat is back and the same as ever.

Every Day marks Wheat’s triumphant return to music making. The band reemerged after a brief hiatus caused by making a splash on the indie market and generating some major label buzz (including a short lived stint on a Columbia Records off-shoot).

Impressively, the band hasn’t missed a beat in its time off. Every Day is stacked end to end with the irreverent pop that turned heads when the band formed almost a decade ago. Opener "Closeness" is accompanied with shiny, sparkling keyboards, while the "I Had Angels Watching Over Me" perfectly captures singer Scott Levesque’s sense of humour overtop a soft-spoken lead guitar.

In fact, Wheat has slipped back into rhythm so effortlessly that you have to wonder what the band has been doing in the meantime. This one will be labeled an undiscovered gem years from now.
