James Muretich was probably the only writer in this city who actually wrote about us 15 years ago and did so repeatedly over the years. He was not only cool and friendly, he was cultured enough to "get" us and nice enough to just tell people that we were worth their time, instead of bookending a complimentary article with small-minded doubts and jabs, like so many critics do to hedge their bets and look cool in case that band doesn't make it big. He picked a side, and based his articles on music, not trend.
