· I go to the dentist for the first time in seven years and the same day this CD shows up in my mailbox. Weird.

It’s like this. I finally go to the dentist for a cleaning and a check-up. I feel high and mighty about my oral hygiene habits, but the dentist finds a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and tells me it has to come out. Though the cleaning is torturous, he pulls the tooth quite easily. He shows it to me and I’m blown away by the size of the cavity. Why wasn’t I in round-the-clock agony with a rotting hole the size of Mare Tranquillitatis?

I go home, check my mail and open a promo package from Aldo Leopardi, the rock’n’roll dentist. The Australian-American prosthodontist has made enough money to pursue his real passion – music. Leopardi digs Def Leppard and Bon Jovi, apparent in this independently released platter. If pop-metal with perfect teeth is your thang, Leopardi is your man. There isn’t one song about flossing. Larry Thompson guests on drums.
