| When you think of adult films, originality is not something that springs to mind. The plot is formulaic (you know exactly what is cumming), the lighting is bad (if lights are used at all), the acting is totally unbelievable (which is funny when you consider that they don’t really have to act) and don’t even get me started about the music.
The only place that porno filmmakers seem to be having any fun is in the titling of their master(bation)pieces. Most of these flicks have vividly descriptive titles (All Holes Filled With Hard Cock) that describe a particular fetish (the Anal Invaders series) or a certain kind of sexual partner (Fortune Cookie Nookie Vol. 1-8). But some erotic auteurs, like their mainstream counterparts, take inspiration from other films, or at least other film’s titles. If you are a TV fan you can rent Desperate Housewhores, or if you prefer theatre, how about The Vagina Dialogues. Still, the time-honoured tradition is to name your skin flick after another movie.
