Setting the mood with ghostly murmurs in the opening track, There’s Hope for You Yet (just kidding) tightens its grip by the second track’s two minute mark. Slinking along with the breathy, warm cadence of Tricky, Chris dela Torre’s vocals prove to be the best part of the project. More confident and versatile than usual bedroom recordings, Axis of Conversation strongly distinguish themselves with absorbing melodic experiments in sound.
