See what you haven’t heard
A compliation of music DVD reviews just in time for the holidays
When you’ve finally had enough of that Faux Fire DVD you can always count on a good music DVD to provide a nice background glow to your holiday festivities. The record labels are all too eager to fill this need, flooding the market with disc after disc in a seemingly endless parade of live performances, long-lost archival gems, rockumentaries, reconstituted concert footage, interviews, videographies and special editions. Here is a quick overview of some of the latest offerings to be had at your local music vendor that promise to satisfy both your audio and visual cravings.

· Bloodied but unbowed: Bloodshot Records Life in the Trenches (Bloodshot Records) –The feisty Chicago punk label pays homage to itself with some 32 clips and videos from its best acts including: The Detroit Cobras, The Unholy Trio, The Meat Purveyors and Waco Brothers.

· Niacin, Live in Tokyo (Eagle Rock/EMI) – Directed by Ryouichi Watanabe this concert features Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth Talas), John Novello and Dennis Chambers performing "No Man’s Land."

· Beth Hart, Live at Paradiso (Koch) – "L.A. Song," "Leave the Light On," and "World Without You" plus a 35-minute rockumentary, Janis in Amsterdam.

· Tupac, The Complete Live Performances (Death Row) – Pictures worth a thousand words from people who claim to have known him. Live at House of Blues and Club 662 in Las Vegas. Features Outlawz, Snoop Dogg, Nat Dogg.

· The Rolling Stones, Truth and Lies (Rock Files Eagle Vision) – Contemporaries, fans and critics sound off about the scandals, crises and excess of the most famous infamous band ever – fab British street scenes.

· Neil Sedaka, The Show Goes On: Live at the Royal Albert Hall (Eagle Vision) – Sedaka has had a 50-year songwriting career. This DVD displays his talents as a classical pianist, featuring songs such as "Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen," "Where the Boys Are," "Calendar Girl," "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" and "Love Will Keep Us Together."

· K-CI & JoJo, All My Life (Geffen Records) – Shiny fabric neck tattoos. Videos in DTS and Dolby 5.1 and Stereo. Two versions of "Tell Me it’s Real." It’s real, just not live.
