Dare to Care/Outside

· Age is but a number.

I’ve reached that point in my life where I realize that I may no longer understand what the kids are into. It’s not that I didn’t understand Bloc Party, I just didn’t see why it was such a big deal.

If the music is edgy and avant-garde, I’ve decided that I can no longer tell whether the musicians are effortlessly superb or are irresponsibly crappy.

Les Georges Leningrad are esthetically hip. But to me, they sound like they might be second rate… but I’m almost 30 and there is no way for me to be sure whether or not I’ve got it right (I’m still living in the early ’00s, where Add N To X was king of this sound).

So, I asked my youngest buddy Daniel, age 20, what he thought.

"English is a second language to Les Georges Leningrad, their first language is suck," says Daniel. "This album is a bunch of bullshit."

Well, not only do I believe him, but I may not be such an out-of-touch square after all. I may even go out and buy myself an "Eye-Pod."
