WOOLLY LEAVES
Quiet Waters
Outside

· The Constantines keyboardist Will Kidman’s debut solo effort beautifully twinkles and sparkles with soft melodies and gentle harmonies.

Washing off the blue-collar sweat and grit that wrap the Constantines’ ditties into sexy, sweltering packages, Will Kidman has bathed in lavender bubble bath, come out squeaky clean and smelling lovely. Conjuring the same sensations experienced in post-bath bliss, Quiet Waters is soothing, relaxing and leaves behind a feeling of pure joy.

With only delicate guitar strumming backing most of the tracks, Kidman is instantly affable with the first few voice cracks as he stretches his range. Almost whispering on "San Luis Rey" and softly striding on "Neverending Song," Kidman’s vocal explorations can be listened to over and over tiresome. Simultaneously able to act as a lullaby or kick-start a gentle catharsis, Quiet Waters is simply divine.
