Stand by freedom of speech and expression
Re: "Used or abused," by Amy Steele, News, August 31-Spetember 06, 2006.

I don’t agree with Ezra Levant’s political and social views nor do I subscribe to the Western Standard. But I do stand by his arguments on the right to freedoom of speech and expression — the most cherished right in all democracies. Simply because certain people don’t agree with a certain view doesn’t mean it should be censored. Mr. Levant made some very good arguments — if certain individuals are offended by the contents of the website, they have the right not to read it, and they have the right to debate and present counter arguments. And if it meets the standards of a hateful speech, they have the right to press charges. But they have no right to ban it.  In Canadian society, we all have the same rights and are subject to the same laws.  Our rights end where the rights of another begin.
