Were this character Merle Terleski to have written a piece criticizing the article in question, I would've had no issues with it. That he chose to add some ridiculous tie-in to some political perspective he seemingly has opposition to as well, makes his argument somewhat more hypocritical, however.
What he really wants to push is some mythical connective between the breakdown in social morality and liberal (left-lib) ideologies – something that simply does not exist. If he really feels that there is such a deterioration in the moral fibre in society, then he should focus on distancing himself from those who readily engage in such activities.
