GUSTER
Ganging Up On the Sun
Reprise

· And then out of nowhere, Guster makes a comeback.

I remember Guster being an able, but totally forgettable, indie rock act back when the market was clogged with bands just like it. That’s why Ganging Up On the Sun is such a welcome surprise. Guster hits its stride with a wonderfully organic approach to Ben Folds-style piano pop. The jangly road-trip worthy "Satellite" and the shimmering self-loather of "One Man Wrecking Machine" are both singles in the making, while the rest of the album veers from sunny rockers to wistful low-key ballads. By no means a perfect album, but well worth a spin or three.
