HOT CHIP
The Warning
EMI

· Dance music for old people/ glitch to the kids!

Hot Chip is incredible at combining beats and canned sounds with instruments and vocal melodies to create catchy songs and The Warning takes that skill to the next level.

Electric guitars and plinky pianos are entwined with synthetic handclaps and keyboards, and the result is a deep desire to dance along. Some of the quieter songs, like "So Glad To See You" are comparable to the Postal Service or even Belle and Sebastian, but that doesn’t necessarily sum up the band or this release, whose individual songs are ultimately stronger than the whole CD.

"Like a monkey with a miniature cymbal" is one of the many invites to sing along in the dance floor hit "Over and Over." Chip is serious about making great music without taking themselves too seriously.
