Guardian Angels are lawless bullies
RE: "Guardian Angels no angels: Controversial group’s tactics infringe on rights of homeless," by Steve Magusiak, News, May 11 — 17, 2006.

Calgary does not need overgrown men acting out childhood vigilante fantasies in our streets. Instead of sweeping and bullying the homeless, we need to address the root causes of the problem. Homelessness is the result of tax cuts, money that used to fund social services and affordable housing. In addition, it is also the breakdown of social support in our now isolated and transient communities.

What Calgary needs is the Socialist Angels, brave men and women who patrol our streets taking from those who have too much and giving like Robinhood to those in need. We need Angels who encourage ways citizens can contribute with dignity while at the same time instilling a sense of caring and belonging to help build communities we can all be proud of.
