· DJ Set by Ollie Teeba.

For those eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Herbaliser’s latest release, Take London, on Canadian shores, this mix album from London’s current club du jour will whet appetites. Likewise, listeners looking for a primer on underground hip hop, with an emphasis on the U.K., would do well to bend an ear. The CD runs the gamut of classics like Coldcut’s remix of Eric B. & Rakim’s "Paid in Full" and James Brown’s "Talkin Loud and Sayin’ Nothing," to more au courant selections like Apathy’s infectious "It Takes a Seven Nation Army to Hold Us Back" or Blufoot’s "Alphabet Man." Teeba’s break from the jazz-infused grooves of the Herbaliser to the more old-school breaks of his live set acts as a refreshing appetizer to Take London’s main course.
