CHICKEN LITTLE
Directed by Mark Dindal
Disney, 2006
So as it usually happens, a group of adults at Disney sit around thinking of what story they can tell in their newest animated feature. What kind of characters they will bring to life to make kids laugh and then turn into the next big toy? Sometimes too many important things get left in the hands of the grownups when a kids perspective would add something fresh and new. So instead of the thirtysomething opinion of Disneys Chicken Little, heres the straight dope from a three-year-old movie-watcher. (And just as a warning, kids dont understand the concept of spoilers so the following review may contain some.)
Andrew Aitkenhead: Who was in the movie?
Jaymee Aitkenhead: Chicken Little, Abby Mallard whats the pigs name?
Runt...
Runt of the Litter and Fish Out of Water.
What was the movie about?
Everyone wants to hear about the movie cause it was good. There was the little orange thing that got lost and they went in the spaceship and there was the space octopuses. The octopuses were aliens and they came out of the ship and tried to get to Chicken Little, Abby Mallard, Runt of the Litter and Fish Out Of Water.
Did you like Chicken Little?
Yeah, I liked when the saucer guys yelled at Chicken Little. The red one and the yellow mommy one were mad at Chicken Littles dad. She said, "Dont use your big voice."
What was your favourite part?
Fish Out of Water was floating and his glow-stick was hanging and it went around fast in a circle. He was in the alien ship and he was funny.
Was it scary?
No. I mean yes. I put my hands up to not see it. But I wasnt scared.
Is there anything else you liked about the movie?
Chicken Little was looking at the orange thing and he looked at him and that was his friend. And I liked Fish Out of Water.
So your favourite character was Fish Out Of Water?
Yeah. He was funny when he was dancing.
So there you have it. The honest truth about a fun and exciting movie that kept this little one captivated for an entire 80 minutes. |
